Identifying sales opportunities for Jo-Kell’s products, systems, service is an essential function of this position. Outside Sales is responsible for providing the company with frequent up-dated forecasts and analysis of progress. Assisting in the formulation, development and implementation of sales/marketing strategies, including new product development, service expansion, etc., in cooperation with the corporate management team is required of this position. Constantly prospect for new customers via referral, cold calling or any other ethical and creative means of initiation. Maintain awareness of business related trends, advances and improvements and to determine the economic impact of any financial, environmental, technical or political activities that could impact the company. Attend trade shows and business functions, which will benefit the company’s trade relations as well as provide sales leads and increased sales volume.

Details:Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   General Maintenance Skills Maintains machine tools and equipment. Inspects equipment and repairs and/or modifies equipment using hand tools such wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, or hammers Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Adjusts functional parts of devices. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Must be able to operate machine shop equipment. (Milling machine, lathe, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools). Must be certified by DTF Maintenance Dept, to operate all shop equipment. Example: pipe threader, saws, presses, sheet metal break, shear, etc. Uses welders to fabricate and repair parts and equipment as needed. Opens process lines, unplugs cutters and flake lines using specialized equipment. Must understand and practice safe line breaking practices. Operates powered industrial vehicles, such as mobile cranes, lifts, and fork truck to move equipment Performs simple maintenance and plumbing tasks such as mounting objects (cabinets, pictures, etc.) to wall and repairing, replacing and unstopping drains, toilets, safety showers and eyewash stations. Must be multi-craft or will train to qualify at our various trades.   Preventive Maintenance Skills Performs preventive maintenance inspections and performs overhauls on production and process equipment including Film Lines (motors, pumps, heated/cooled process rolls, steam or electric ovens), Polymer Plant (chemical processing equipment), Slitting (film converting equipment), Utilities equipment (air compressors, steam boilers, water chillers), and auxiliary support equipment (HVAC, convey systems, packing equipment, hoists, and fork trucks).   Contributes to planning and scheduling of work to be accomplished during plant shutdowns. Repairs or replaces equipment such as gearboxes, shafts, process rolls, buggies, precision shafts or pumps daily. Repairs and polishes process roll surfaces using hand tools and dialecting equipment as needed. Changes filter material (air, oil, water). Inspects and repairs or replaces bearings, gears and seals as needed. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Dismantles machine or equipment to gain access to, remove and examine parts for defects.   Precision Maintenance Skills Uses specialized tools to disassemble and reassemble equipment and hand tools to rebuild equipment as needed. Performs precision alignments Aligns couplings, belt sheaves, and roll surfaces. Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of metal stock required Upgrades drawings to reflect "as-built" or modifications. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metalstock. Assembles and test operates machines to verify correction of malfunction.   Computer Skills Operates computer keyboard daily to input data into the Maintenance Management System (SAP), such as time and material charged to a work order, and historical equipment data. Technician inputs his/her time into the payroll system.
